Dr Andrew Carmichael

I did my undergraduate medical training in Oxford and The London Hospital, and did my junior medical training in Oxford and London. In 1989 I came to the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge as an MRC Training Fellowship where I did my PhD on the CD8+ T cell response against HIV, followed by an MRC Clinician Scientist Fellowship and Lister Institute Research Fellowship. Since 2003 I have been an NHS Consultant Physician with an interest in Infectious Diseases, and I am actively involved in teaching. My research interest is the T cell response against human cytomegalovirus.
